We kept the building low and the guest count lower. Every suite faces water, every terrace is screened from the next, and the staff-to-guest ratio sits close to one-to-one.
The whole property fits in the space of a village square, so nothing you need is ever far from your terrace.
A calm 38 m² room with a stone terrace facing due west — the best sunset in the house for the money.
Two rooms carved into the rock, a plunge pool on the terrace and steps straight down to the tender dock.
A standalone villa behind a walled garden, with an outdoor kitchen and a private cook on request.
All eighty-four of them. The building grew sideways along the cliff instead of upward, so no terrace looks onto another and nothing is more than two minutes from the sea.
Laterite stone hammam, salt room and four cabins, with a treatment menu built on four plants that already grow on the hillside above the resort.
Chef Pereira buys whatever the Chapora boats land and writes that evening’s list around it, on the jetty wall, at six in the morning.
Transfers, minibar, wifi and the spa’s thermal circuit are in the price you were quoted. Nothing appears on the bill at checkout that you did not choose.
Two kitchens, one harbour. Kokum works the water’s edge with whatever the Chapora boats land that morning; Balcão runs a wood-fire grill on the upper terrace. Between them sits a cellar of 240 Indian labels and a bar that stays open as long as anyone is still on the terrace.
Book any suite between October and November and the fifth night is complimentary — spa credit and airport transfer included for two.
Shot over one week in early season — the pools at dawn, the harbour run, and dinner service on the upper terrace.
Browse the GalleryWe were met at the gate by name, and by the second morning the kitchen already knew how my daughter takes her eggs. That level of attention is rare at any price.
The spa alone justified the trip. Laterite stone, no piped music, and a therapist who actually asked what hurt before starting.
Booked the Deluxe expecting a compromise and got a west-facing terrace with nobody overlooking it. We stayed on the terrace most evenings.
Travelled with a nine-month-old. They rearranged the room, found a cot and sent up a steriliser before we’d finished unpacking.
Kokum is worth a booking on its own. Whatever came off the boat that morning is what you eat, and the list of Indian whites is serious.
Shot over one week in early season — nothing staged, nothing borrowed from another property. Click any frame to open it full size.
